What gender would a name Piers Smith be? I've just received an email from a Piers Smith, the Treasurer of the Consular Club of HCMC in response to my micro-grant request for funds to buy the baby formula for the Convoy For Babies (CFB) HCMC--> Dong Nai orphanage run. I don't know how to respond as a "Mr. Piers Smith" or "Ms. Piers Smith"?
From the site, it says Piers Smith is from Australia. The name Piers is unfamiliar to an American so I don't what gender this person is. Ohhh..since I tested the Poll feature, I'll use it now.

Piers is a dude, man...
I guess you don't know Piers Morgan, the guy who took over for Larry King on CNN. Given that he's British, and I know no Americans with that name, I would guess it's an "old English" name.

Because that name is not used in America, I first heard it in an email and didn't know how to formally address the person.
